Spring Floral Blooming on Store Shelves

Look at these beautiful Special Edition Spring Floral scissors and rotary cutters from Heidi Grace. I found Blooming on the shelves of my local JoAnn's store today.

Each year I look forward to snap dragons. As a young child they always made me smile and they still do. Funny thing though...I love the way real flowers look, but call me crazy, I really don't like the smell of flowers. Never have. So, these little HG beauties are perfect pick for me.

How would you like to have one of these beauties delivered to your home? I've decided to RAK one of the rotary cutters to give away to a lucky reader of my blog. I'll pick one response on April 1st...no fooling! But I want to get to know my blog readers better...so tell me...what one type of flower makes you smile?

(Edit 3/31/08: Melita left a great question in her comment. I have answered her question in a comment response below.)

Growing up, I always loved tulips...and I still do, but it is hard not to smile when I see a Gerbera Daisy...they are such fabulous colours! And to top it off...my mom is a florist...she gets some of the most interesting colours and ornate flowers! :D

Easily tulips are my favorites. They have such rich colors and a gorgeous deep scent. I just love tulips!

I will have to say tulips are my faves too--Red ones

For course I'm a fan of the tulips, but it has to be a bed of multi-color tulips.

I also like Pansies. They remind me of when I was growing up in Germany. Everyone had pansies in their window boxes and their front yard.

I truly love all flowers, but for spring, tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and lilacs, snowball bush, viburnum smells wonderful but only lasts a few days!

I can't wait to start seeing color and being able to plant some!

roses :)
Love the old fashioned climbing roses... although the new bush varieties that grow anywhere without any effort are fabulous too!

When I was little we would take the snapdragons and slightly press on the sides... so our 'faces' would talk. (it looks like a face opening and closing its mouth).

And tulips, and daylilly, and pansies...

Can you tell I'm done with this snow!

Ok, flowers.....

Nothing says love to me like a bouquet of red roses, but still my faves are snapdragons (cause I play with them) and carnations (I like their smells) and the crocus when they pop their heads through early spring.

I love buttercups the southern name for daffodils..Tulips run a very close second. I love all flowers but I'm sorry to say I don't have a very green thumb like my mom and my granny did. Thanks for the RAK Wendy Jo....Patti Smith fiskateer #1442

I just love fresh flowers. The way they smell and look. I do not have a green thumb. I kill anything that comes in my home. So naturally the best choice for me are flower buquets. I know they're supposed to die so I don't feel bad when they do. My favorite flower has to be the Calla lillie. Don't know why. I just think is one of the most beautiful flowers. Following a close second are daisies.

I love so many flowers. But I would have to say Gerbera Daisies and Lily of the Valley are tops on my list. Now that I live in Arizona I have had added Cactus blooms to my favorites. They are so beautiful and usually quite large. I never would have guessed a thorny cactus would produce such wonderful blooms. I also like poppies. They grow well in AZ and are so pretty covering the base of the mountains.

Love roses! But usually in the spring, I have to admire them from far away. I have terrible allergies!! LOL! Quick question for you Wendy Jo, are the rotary cutters for fabric only or do you also use them in your paper crafts?

I guess I would have to say any type of wildflower just because they grow, of course, in the wild and can be enjoyed by everyone, especially the ones found on stretches of roadway. It is good to know that some things are still free....like the beautiful sight and smell of a flower.

I forgot about snapdragons-but I think of them more as a summer plant. One of my goals in life has been to create a green one (I'd better get to work fast!) I'm just a couple years from social security and I still can't resist squeezing them to make them "talk".

I love Daffodils. My husband used to call our daughter his daffodil. So I just love them now. It reminds me of that.

Hi Wendy Jo - I saw the comment about winning your previous RAK (Fiskateer number), so please do NOT include me in this RAK. More sharing to others!

A good day at my house for 1 main reason! The daylillies and tulips are 1.5 inches out of the ground!

Melita, thanks for your question.

Rotary cutters can be used on paper. They are great for curves and your hand won't get tired from squeezing handles all day long. Although I normally don't use rotary cutters on paper, I do occassionally do fabric crafts which a rotary would be my first cutting tool choice.

I love peonies and roses. When we bought our house the previous owners tried to kill of the peony bushes, but I was able to give them some extra TLC and save 3 of them. Every year for Mother's Day my DH and son give me a new rose bush to add to our flower beds.

I love Daisies! They are just so simple and beautiful. All flowers look beautiful. I can't wait for them to bloom here in Chicago (suburbs).
